Nextcloud is a complete personal cloud: file storage and sync, link sharing, collaborative document editing, calendars and contacts. It does what the big-name drives do — except it runs on dedicated UK hardware, behind one secure login, with nobody mining the contents.
what it does
Sync everywhere
Desktop clients for Windows, macOS and Linux plus mobile apps keep a folder on every device in perfect step. Work offline; it reconciles when you reconnect.
Share with a link
Send a file or folder to anyone with an expiring, optionally password-protected link — no account needed on their end.
Documents, together
Edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations in the browser, with real-time co-editing when you share them.
Calendars & contacts
CalDAV and CardDAV sync natively with phone and desktop calendar apps — appointments and address book, de-Googled.
Photos too, if you like
Basic photo timelines are built in — though for serious photo libraries, Immich next door is the specialist.
