acceptable use

The short list of things that end access.

This covers the VPN profiles, the apps you have been granted, and the tools under utils. It forms part of the terms of use.

Why this page exists at all.

Traffic you send through the VPN leaves from our address, in the UK. If it causes a problem, the complaint does not reach you — it reaches us, and it can take the exit away from everyone using it. That is why a shared network needs rules.

not allowed

Don’t do these.

anything illegal
Nothing unlawful, through the VPN or the apps — no illegal content, no illegal downloads, no illegal activity of any kind. This is the one that ends an account immediately rather than politely.
torrenting & file sharing
No peer-to-peer or torrent traffic over the VPN exit, and nothing that infringes copyright. This is not a judgement about file sharing in general — it is that a copyright complaint about traffic from the exit arrives at our provider, with our name on it, and that is how an exit gets pulled for everyone.
attacking things
No port scanning, brute forcing, denial of service, vulnerability probing or exploitation aimed at anything, from anywhere on the network. Whether or not you mean it kindly.
spam & bulk mail
No unsolicited bulk email, no mass messaging, no automated account creation elsewhere. It gets the address blacklisted and the damage outlives the incident.
commercial use & resale
This is a private network, not a product. Do not run a business, a service, or anything commercial through the VPN or the apps, and do not sell, rent, resell or share access to any part of it.
sharing your access
Your VPN profile, your passkey and your app access are yours alone. Do not pass them to anyone else, including people you trust. If someone else needs access, ask and they can have their own.
reaching past your own door
No attempting to reach other people’s data, other people’s app accounts, or any administrative part of the network you have not been given. Finding a way in and telling us is welcome; finding a way in and using it is not.
getting the exit blocked
Anything that lands the exit address on a blacklist — abuse reports, fraud, scraping at scale, ban evasion — affects every other person using it, and will be treated that way.

fair use

Shared things, used reasonably.

bandwidth
The exit is shared. Sustained heavy use may be throttled, or the profile suspended, so that it stays usable for everyone else. There is no published number: we would rather not quote a limit we cannot measure honestly, and we would rather talk to you first.
storage on the apps
Space is limited and allocated per person. There is no guaranteed quota. If your usage becomes a problem you will be asked to bring it down — you will not simply find things deleted.
the utils tools
The tools under itzgee.com/utils are open to everyone and have no quota. Automated hammering of them is still abuse, and is still covered by this page.

if it goes wrong

What actually happens.

a word first
For most things — usage that has crept up, a misunderstanding about what is allowed — the first step is a message asking you to change it. Not a suspension.
suspension
For repeated problems after being asked, or anything that puts the network or other users at risk, the relevant access is suspended while it is sorted out.
immediate removal
For anything illegal, anything that endangers other users’ data, or anything that puts the exit or the servers at serious risk, access ends immediately and without notice.
lawful requests
Where we are legally required to respond to a request from an authority, we will. What we hold, and therefore what could ever be handed over, is set out in the privacy policy.

found a problem?

Tell us — that is not a trap.

If you find a way to reach something you should not be able to reach, reporting it is welcome and will not cost you your account. Using it will. Email [email protected].
