Acceptable use. The short list of things that end access.

This covers VPN profiles, the apps you have been given, and the tools. It is part of the terms of use.

Why this page exists

Traffic you send through the VPN leaves from our address, in the UK. If it causes a problem, the complaint does not reach you. It reaches us, and it can get the VPN connection taken away from everyone who uses it. That is why a shared service needs rules.

01 / Not allowed

Anything illegal: Nothing unlawful, through the VPN or the apps: no illegal content, no illegal downloads, no illegal activity of any kind. This is the one that ends an account straight away.
Torrenting and file sharing: No peer-to-peer or torrent traffic over the VPN, and nothing that breaks copyright. This is not a view on file sharing in general. A copyright complaint about traffic from the VPN arrives at our provider with our name on it, and that is how a VPN connection gets pulled for everyone.
Attacking things: No port scanning, password guessing, flooding, probing for weaknesses or breaking into anything, from anywhere on the service. Even if you mean well.
Spam and bulk mail: No unwanted bulk email, no mass messaging, and no automatic account-making on other sites. It gets our address blacklisted, and the damage lasts longer than the incident.
Business use and reselling: This is a private service, not a product. Do not run a business or a service through the VPN or the apps, and do not sell, rent or share access to any part of it.
Sharing your access: Your VPN profile, your passkey and your app access are yours alone. Do not pass them to anyone, even people you trust. If someone else needs access, ask, and they can have their own.
Reaching past your own door: No trying to get into other people’s data, other people’s app accounts, or any admin part of the service you have not been given. Finding a way in and telling us is welcome. Finding a way in and using it is not.
Getting our address blocked: Anything that puts our VPN address on a blacklist, such as abuse reports, fraud, mass scraping or getting round bans, affects everyone else who uses it, and will be treated that way.

02 / Fair use

Bandwidth: The VPN connection is shared. Heavy use over a long time may be slowed down, or the profile paused, so it stays usable for everyone else. There is no published number, and we would rather talk to you first.
Storage in the apps: Space is limited and shared out per person. There is no guaranteed amount. If your use becomes a problem you will be asked to bring it down. You will not simply find things deleted.
The tools: The tools under itzgee.com/utils are open to everyone. Hammering them with automated requests is still misuse, and is covered by this page.

03 / If it goes wrong

A word first: For most things, like use that has crept up or a misunderstanding about what is allowed, the first step is a message asking you to change it. Not a suspension.
Suspension: For repeated problems after being asked, or anything that puts the service or other people at risk, the access involved is paused while it is sorted out.
Removed straight away: For anything illegal, anything that puts other people’s data at risk, or anything that seriously endangers the VPN or the servers, access ends at once and without notice.
Lawful requests: If the law requires us to answer a request from an authority, we will. What we hold, and so what could ever be handed over, is set out in the privacy policy.
